Prevention and Health

Prevention: testing for all, throughout the year.

Because your health is our n°1 priority, your Viadys pharmacist encourages testing by providing devices for you to perform some tests yourself.

Available in your pharmacy:

  • Blood sugar test (prevention and information on diabetes)
  • Measuring blood pressure
  • Breath assessment
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • ...

These preventive measures, when grouped with the know-how and personalized advice provided by your pharmacist (nutrition advice, overall health, etc.) and regular visits to your doctor help keep you healthy.

A good habit to start up and an easy one to keep.

Free consultations with a nutritionist or nurse in your pharmacy!

You have probably heard about it on the radio or television over the last few weeks... for over a year now, we have been providing free nutrition consultations or health check-ups with a nurse.

These healthcare protection appointments are not reserved to a particular patient profile or a specific disease, quite the opposite...once a month in your Pharma Référence pharmacy, a qualified nurse or a nutritionist will be on the premises to meet you and give advice during a personalized consultation that will remain totally confidential.

Why make an appointment with a nutritionist?

These consultations will last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, and aim to answer any questions you have about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle:

  • How should I ensure that I am eating a balanced diet?
  • How can I make up for any deficiencies in my diet?
  • How can I combine nutrition and food enjoyment in association with medical treatment?

But also to guide you in any specific needs you may have, for example:

  • If you suffer from digestive complaints
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • If you would like your child or adolescent to have a consultation
  • If you are overweight, have recently stopped smoking, going through the menopause or are a vegetarian
  • If you are an older person (to prevent undernourishment)

If you suffer from one of these diseases
  • High blood pressure
  • Type 1 or 2 diabetes
  • Dyslipidemia (high cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.)
  • Obesity and bariatric surgery (gastric ring or by-pass)
  • Rheumatism, osteoporosis, etc.
  • Diseases and conditions which may lead to undernourishment: AIDS, cystic fibrosis, cancer, Crohn's diseases, very old age, etc.

Why make an appointment with a nurse?

These consultations will last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, and aim to provide you with a "health check-up" from a preventative standpoint... or even as part of your treatment for some diseases:

  • If you are a woman (contraception problems, pregnancy, if you are a new mum or going through the menopause)
  • If you wish to stop smoking
  • If you suffer from sleep-related complaints or stress
  • If you are retired
  • If you are overweight/obese

If you suffer from one of these chronic diseases
  • Type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Cholesterol
  • Breathing complaints (asthma, COPD, etc.)
  • Cancer

How do I make an appointment?

Not all pharmacies offer these new services, so ask your local pharmacist or visit http://www.teampharma.fr/
(Click on the map of France and select your region. You will see the list of pharmacies that offer these healthcare appointments!)

Making an appointment is very simple; ask your pharmacist when the nutritionist or nurse is scheduled to come in. You will then receive a form with the time and date when you can have your consultation. On the day itself, a personalized file will be set up and will stay in the pharmacy if you wish to continue with the follow-up.

PLEASE NOTE

These free consultations provide you with a full health check-up and testing but no treatment or therapy will be dispensed during your consultation.

Depending on the state of your health, the nutritionist or nurse will invite you to consult a doctor.
These free consultations aim to prevent disease and provide guidance and advice, but in no way replace a visit to your doctor and more detailed examinations if these are required.
